BACTES People Give Back is a company-wide program that encourages our employees to give back to their community. We have established a Charitable Giving Committee consisting of employees from around the country. This group oversees the company-sponsored charitable giving activities while encouraging local offices to give back to their communities in whatever way they feel led.
Each year, the committee surveys our employees and then narrows the list down to two national charities that we can support as an organization. We select participatory events such as fundraising walks food drives and more. Our employees can get involved through a financial gift matched by BACTES or by giving of their time.
St. Jude Children’s Hospital
Teams of BACTES employees, family members and friends from across the country walked and raised approximately $11,000 for this charity. A great result for St. Jude and a great time for all involved.
American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life
A total of 16 BACTES teams took part in various events in cities all over the country. Many in the BACTES family have been touched by cancer and walked in support of survivors and those who lost their battle. Participants described their experience as emotional but satisfying. Additionally, the fundraising was a great success and we raised nearly $13,000 to support those battling cancer.
We desire to be a good corporate citizen in all aspects of its business including environmental sustainability. We strive to do what is best for our community and our planet by minimizing the impact of our business on the environment. This includes making appropriate use of natural resources and encouraging the replenishment of renewable resources. In our effort to replenish renewable resources, we have partnered with The Eden Projects to restore forests in areas around the world. This organization reduces extreme poverty and restores healthy forests in Haiti, Madagascar, Ethiopia, and Nepal by employing local villagers to plant millions of trees. Our business can be very paper‐intensive and for that reason, our desire is to ensure that the trees used to make this paper are replaced. We plant five trees for every one we use based on how many pages of medical records we process on behalf of our clients. In the first year of this program, BACTES planted nearly 27,000 trees.
